Toyota's engineers from Japan visited India at least 30 times during the making of Etios. The name of the upcoming Etios stands for E-Economical family car, T-Technology, I-Innovative styling, O-Outstanding comfort and S-Safety without compromise. The Etios Hatchback will be powered by a 1200 cc 1.2 litre DOHC petrol engine. The interiors will carry the usual Toyota characteristic of high quality. As far as the design is concerned, the hatchback has been very well proportioned. This car will be a made-for-India car. Indian drivers tend to brake abruptly in city driving conditions and accelerate frequently. These findings too will be incorporated in the new Etios engine.
