As per a recent study conducted by experts in the auto industry, the five listed cars will hit Indian roads next year and gain a greater importance than others. Mitsubishi is now gearing up to seriously contend in the Indian car market. After it launched its revamped Pajero SFX, Mitsubishi has decided to bring new life into the Lancer sedan. Mitsubishi will re-enter the luxury sedan segment with its new and restyled Lancer Evolution X sedan. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, also known as Evo 10, is expected to be imported to India in the first quarter of the year 2009 as a completely built unit. The model, based on market response to the product, will consequently be manufactured in India. The Evolution X comes with a four-wheel drive configuration and a 2.0-litre engine that churns out close to 295 bhp of power. The competition line-up includes the A4, Teana, Accord, Superb, and Camry. The estimated starting price of the Evolution X, inclusive of import duty, is expected to be Rs 22 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
