Upcoming Sedans in India
The Indian automobile industry is all set to accord a red carpet welcome to many more exciting sedans from well known Indian car manufacturers and foreign car manufacturers in the future. Manufacturers are busy rolling out luxury and super-luxury sedans on Indian roads along with the usual mid-sized sedans. As per a recent study conducted by experts in the auto industry, the five listed cars will hit Indian roads next year and gain a greater importance than others. Here is listing the Upcoming Sedans that are expected to make their entry into the Indian auto market.
Volkswagen Phaeton
The Volkswagen Phaeton is identified as a car better than the Mercedes S-Class. The major shortfall in this comparison is the difference in the status symbol attached to the Merc. The Phaeton is one of Volkswagen’s high-end luxury cars that will be introduced and imported to India as a completely built unit. The engine, transmission, and luxurious interiors are all geared to provide optimum comfort and performance. The Phaeton is expected to be available in two or three petrol and diesel versions with 4.2-litre and 6.0-litre engine options that will be powered by a V6, V10, or W12 engine configuration. Options of a 5-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission to power a rear-wheel drive configuration is anticipated. The official launch of the Phaeton is likely to be at the end of the year 2008. The estimated starting price of the Phaeton, inclusive of import duty, is expected to be Rs 58 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
