Hyundai has not really been lucky in the luxury sedan segment in the Indian market. And the company hopes to change this with its brand new Sonata that was displayed at the recently concluded New York Auto Show. The standard engine option that Hyundai offers with Sonata is a 2.4 litre direct injection four cylinder inline that churns out 198bhp. Internationally, the Hyundai Sonata is available with a 2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder direct injection engine that brings forth a maximum power of 274bhp. But this option is unlikely to become available in the Indian market. Be ready to be get surprised with a new 6 speed automatic gearbox.
