Upcoming SUVs in India
While there is a brisk competition among car manufacturers to capture the auto market in India by rolling out eye-catching sedans and small cars, some manufacturers are also trying to get a hold on the auto market using powerful and high-performance Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) in India. Here is listing the Upcoming SUVs that are expected to make their entry into the Indian auto market.
Tata Indicruz
Tata is soon to launch a new multi-passenger vehicle (MPV) based on the Safari SUV platform called the Indicruz in the first quarter of 2009. This is most probably a move to grab a piece of the Innova market pie. The showcased model of the Indicruz at the 2008 Expo looked extremely modern and jazzy with a sleek body design similar to the Innova with a more curvaceous roof, in addition to a futuristic headlight and grille design adorning the front fascia. The interiors of this car appear spacious and comfortable with quite a few gadgets to keep up with modern times. The Tata Indicruz is expected to borrow the Safari’s 2.2-litre DICOR diesel engine that delivers 138 bhp. The estimated starting price of the Indicruz is Rs 8.5 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
