Tata,which has already rolled out many vehicles in India, created a lot of drama during the unveiling of the Rs 1-Lakh car,Nano,at the 9th Auto Expo in Delhi on January 2008. This much-awaited car is said to have an elegant style,good comfort,and convenience features with some brilliant packages. The 624cc,twin-cylinder,rear-end petrol engine generates around 30 bhp and is coupled to a four-speed manual gear shift. The estimated fuel economy is claimed to be close to 23 km/litre. There is also a plan to launch high-end variants with alloy wheels and leather trims or a larger engine after the initial few months of the base variants launch. It will have an estimated starting price of Rs 1 Lakh (ex-showroom India).
