Tata Sumo Gold

Tata Sumo Gold, the popular MPV has been moving people around for a number of years. That seven to 9 people can travel in comfort, at fairly low cost, makes the Gold the first choice for fleet use. Friendly suspension, robust engine, and most importantly the easy-to-drive design have seen that Tata Sumo Gold is again the first choice, when it is bought for personal and family use. Modernized HVAC (heating, ventilation and Air-conditioning) has added to considerable passenger comfort; along with some more new features, this stylishly built vehicle is roomy as a van and convenient to drive as a car.

Tata Sumo Gold Models:

Bharat Stage emission standards the BS-III and BS-IV can said to be the starting points for differentiating between the Tata Sumo Gold models. Sumo Gold BS-IV is equipped with a 2956 cc 3.0 CR4 engine; you can expect peak power output of 81 bhp at 3000 rpm and the torque can come up to 250Nm between 1600 and 2000 rpm.

On the other hand, the Tata Sumo Gold BS-III comes with a 2956XX 4SP TCIC engine that develops 68 bhp at 3000 rpm as peak power. Maximum torque is 223 Nm between 1600 and 2000 rpm. Depending on the state, the model, and variant, the price is slightly higher for the BS-IV, about Rs.14, 000 to Rs.25, 000.

Within this price range, you can personalize further out of the four variants: Tata Sumo Gold GX being the fully loaded choice, followed by EX, LX and CX in that order.

Tata Sumo Gold Specifications:

All the Tata Sumo Gold variants clear the ground at a good 190mm, a feature you will find pretty useful on uneven rural roads and also the city’s speed-breakers. To cushion the rides, a double wishbone type suspension with coil springs reinforced by antiroll bar is fitted at the front. Trip odometer, clock, stylish wheel caps, and front grill are also common to all the variants.

Tata Sumo Gold Golden Safety, Style, and Convenience:

The spare wheel is fixed under the floor, a neat upgrade that leads to a clean back and clearer view when reversing. Tata Sumo Gold’s body graphics (except for the CX,) add that extra color to vehicle. Stylized side footstep makes it easy for getting in or out of the vehicle. And, side intrusion beams on all the doors, disc brakes in the front and drum type brakes at the rear, work on the safety angle. You can opt for either seven or 9-seater configuration. Tata Gold, the tallest vehicle in class has also the best in class, legroom, and headroom; you will be relieved that all the passengers have some comfortable space, a good recommendation on long journeys.

The pedal effort has been reduced; the steering wheel has been clad in leather, which along with a lighter clutch minimizes fatigue driving.

Tata Sumo Gold Price and Fuel Economy:

There is a 65 Ltrs fuel tank and based on 14.7 Kmpl rated mileage, the Gold BS-IV can take you about 955 Km for one filling. The BS-III has ARAI rating of 14.3 Kmpl. Sumo Gold CX-BS-III, is the most affordable at about Rs. 5.3 Lakh; and the full-feature Gold GX-BS-IV is roughly Rs.6.85 Lakh – since the prices vary with the state and city, check with your Tata dealer.

Fog lamps, music system, door-ajar and seatbelt warnings and a few other provisions vary with the model; it is best to visit your Tata show room to check out your preferences. You can also discuss finance options and the occasional offers on the Tata Sumo Gold at the same time.
