Gearbox is used to send power from the engine to the wheels. Change of the gear allows the driver to keep maximum power applied to the wheels in every condition from start-up to high speeds. A gear box can be manual or automatic with 3 to 6 ratios or speeds.

This system is designed to recognise a steep incline by monitoring the throttle position, speed, acceleration and deceleration of a vehicle. While climbing up, it keeps the engine in a lower gear for enhanced climbing power.
