Premier Automobiles Limited is one of India's first car manufacturers which is established in 1944 by the industrial pioneer Walchand Hirachand. In partnership with Chrysler Corporation, USA, the first car from Premier factory rolled out in 1947. Premier is known for its old time famous cars Premier Padmini and Fiat 1100. Premier has had several collaborations and joint-ventures with FIAT, Nissan, Peugeot etc. The company has re-entered the Indian passenger cars market with its first compact SUV Rio which is being imported from China and assembled at Premier's Pune facility.
