Toyota Kirloskar Motors, the Indian arm of Toyota Motor Corporation has launched the face lifted model of Toyota Prius hybrid car in India. The Prius comes with the latest innovation in advanced automotive technology - the Solar Ventilation System. The Prius is powered by a 4-cylinder in-line Twin Cam 16-valve DOHC 98 bhp 1.8-litre 2ZR FXE engine and a nickel-metal hydride (Ni MH) battery pack. It features Electrically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that delivers greater fuel efficiency and the combined total power of the engine and the electric motor as a hybrid system is 134 bhp. The notable feature of the Prius - Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) minimizes harmful emissions and improves fuel efficiency. Easy Seat, JBL 8-speaker audio system with USB port and back monitor and ample storage space make riding a comfortable experience. The Prius comes loaded with safety features that include seven SRS airbags, front and rear crumple zones, Active Headrest, EPS-VSP (Electric Power Steering-Vehicle Stability Control), ABS, EBD and Traction Control system.
