Range Rover Evoque, the most compact Land Rover built till date, has been launched in India. The Evoque comes in two diesel and one petrol variant, the 2.2 litre diesel SD4 and a 2.0 Litre petrol variant. The 2.2 litre turbodiesel engine option produces 187 bhp. The other option is a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 237 bhp @ 5500 rpm. Maximum torque of 340 Nm@1750 rpm is produced by the petrol engine and the diesel engine produces the torque of 420 Nm@1750 rpm. The Range Rover Evoque is biofuel compatible and built with light weight materials and technologies including removable carbon composite roof panels, regenerative brakes, a stop-start system, the ERAD (electric rear axle drive) and parallel hybrid powertrain system. Other features of the car include electric driver seat adjustments, air conditioner with dual-zone climate control, electric side door mirrors and remote central locking. The armrests of the car allow space for a cup holder. The car features a light and airy interior with stowage space of 550 litres including ample space under the seats. The car has a very good approach and departure, thanks to the hill descent control feature. The air intake feature of the car is integrated into the roof to contribute to exceptional wading capabilities. The feature is the first in any Land Rover model. The passengers of Evoque are protected by eight airbags while the front ventilated rear disk brakes assist in precise braking.
