The all-new Sonata Embera christened as 'Sonata Transform' is creatively designed with passion, style and elegance. The new car has undergone a complete transformation and now comes with plenty of functional adornments and awesome performance to give a new dimension to the car. The re-designed Sonata carves its own niche in the premium sedan segment. It is available in three variants in India: 2.4 VTVT (petrol), 2.0 CRDi MT (diesel), and 2.0 CRDi AT (diesel). The 2.4 VTVT is powered by a second generation Theta engine that generates 174 bhp and offers enhanced drivability and fuel efficiency. The diesel variants are powered by a powerful common rail engine that is mated to a Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) to deliver 149 bhp of power and improved fuel efficiency. The exterior is styled with a flowing profile that is complemented by a chrome radiator grille, wide air dams, upgraded headlamps, chrome tipped dual exhaust, slim body coloured bumpers, and new design 16-inch alloy wheels. The interior of the Sonata Transform discovers a new world of car innovations embellished with subtle touches of chrome. Some of the other highlights accentuating the car’s interior are a re-designed console layout, blue LED illuminated instrumentation, centre armrest with large storage, and car audio system with USB and auxiliary port. For safety, the sedan is designed and engineered with high quality steel to absorb impact energy in case of accidents.
