Overview

The Boxster from German car manufacturer Porsche is one of the most celebrated sports cars in the world. The 2-seater roadster receives A+ for impressive handling characteristics and superb performance.

The car has a beautifully styled exterior that follows traditional Porsche design and the interior is classy with full leather upholstery. It comes loaded with advanced features such as active steering and PASM active suspension system. The Boxster competes with SLK-Class from Mercedes-Benz.

Powertrain & Performance

Available in three variants - Base, S and Spyder. The base model is powered by a 2.9L 6-cylinder boxer engine that delivers 255 bhp whereas the 'S' is equipped with a 3.2L 6-cylinder boxer engine that churns out 310 bhp and 3.4L Spyder produces 320 bhp. The Boxster can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds.

Both variants come with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed Tiptronic S automatic. The gear shifts on the transmission can be adjusted to put the car in 'Economy' or 'Sport' mode. The car gives better mileage in economy mode but performance is reduced.

The engines are enhanced by 'VarioCam Plus' valve timing technology that enables them to generate more power and deliver improved mileage. The roadster comes with PASM active suspension system that offers continuous adjustment of individual damping settings to suit different road conditions and driving styles. The Boxster S comes with a firmer sport suspension for a sportier ride.

Build & Styling

The exterior is wonderfully designed to suit the Boxster's dynamic nature. The headlights are well placed to deliver a perfect illumination pattern. The 17" alloy wheels on the base variant come in attractive five-spoke design. The S variant gets slightly larger 18" alloy wheels.

The plush interior comes with leather-upholstered sport seats. The instrument panel has a sporty three-gauge design and the audio system is premium Bose surround sound. For convenience, parking assist and navigation systems are available.

The Boxster comes with advanced safety features such as Porsche Side Impact Protection (POSIP), front and rear roll-over protection, head-protection airbags, and electronic stability control system.
