Maruti Suzuki Versa is a well-designed multi-purpose vehicle especially to cater to the need of Indian joint families. With this MPV, families and friends get an opportunity to experience the joy of travelling together.
It is a spacious MPV equipped with convenient features, excellent engine, large sliding doors, and flexible seating. Though the car is huge in size its design allows for easy maneuverability in the city. Versa is worth the value for its money as it maintains a superb balance between price, performance, and functionality.
Launched after the success of Omni, the car is available in three variants: Standard 5-seater, DX1 8-seater, and DX2 8-seater.
Maruti Suzuki Versa is powered by a 1.3-litre, inline 4, all-aluminium Metatech engine that generates 82 bhp. The engine is mated to a 16 Bit Electronic Control Module and a 5-speed manual transmission. It is compliant to BS III emission norms and has the ability to propel from 0 to 100 km/h in 14 seconds. The engine is equipped with a dual coil distributor-less ignition system that enhances the life of the engine and the high power to weight ratio ensures superior pick up and acceleration.
The suspension system is especially designed for Indian roads. It comprises of McPherson strut suspension with anti-roll bar and a rebound spring in front whereas coil springs with mass dampers at the rear. The primary function of the anti roll bar and a rebound spring in the front suspension improves stability and prevent the car from rolling. The mass dampers along with a dynamic damper in the front engine mounting and a stiffener in the compressor bracket helps reduce noise in the cabin.

Focusing on the large Indian family, Maruti Suzuki constructed the Versa on a stretched wheelbase. The luxury multi-purpose vehicle with classy look and trendy body graphics make the car flaunt on Indian roads. Moreover, the halogen headlamps, body coloured bumpers, and the stylish grille add to the classy appeal of the Versa. The poor aerodynamics of the car induce drag but still the fuel efficiency remains impressive.
The interior boasts of spacious cabin with flexi seating in three rows. Seats in the first have sliding and reclining facility to adjust the space between front row and middle row seats, the second row seats are bucket type also with sliding and reclining facility, and the third row seats are flip down seats. The third row seats are absent in 5-seater Versa. Moreover, side door pockets, moulded carpet with felt for cushioned carpet, twin air conditioner, and electronic power steering heightens the level of comfort on every journey.
Versa is one of the safest cars on the road. It is equipped with side impact beams, front impact beams, and seat belts for safety and protection of its passengers. A steel pipe frame in the rear safeguards passengers from rear impacts.
