Honda enters into the highly competitive small car segment with the Brio. The new Brio (Pronounced as Br-ee-yo) hatchback has been developed after extensive market surveys on driving needs and lifestyles in India. Brio means 'cheerful' and 'energetic' in Italian and Honda has put in extra efforts to deliver best of safety and comfort features in its maiden small car. The Brio, available in seven variants, is priced between Rs 3.95 Lakh to Rs 5.10 Lakh. It is expected to beat the sales figures of Honda's flagship vehicle City. Made in India, the Honda Brio is on par with Honda cars in terms of quality and parts manufactured from plants in Japan. It comes with a 2 years or 40,000 km warranty.
A four cylinder 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine delivers a maximum output of 88 PS @ 6000 rpm and Torque of 109 Nm @ 4600 rpm yields an excellent fuel economy of 18.4 kmpl. The i-VTEC (intelligent Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control) controls the opening of air-fuel intake valves and exhaust valves in accordance with engine speeds. The five-speed manual transmission with optimized gear ratios provides excellent low rpm acceleration and smooth high rpm performance. The unique 'Eco' lamp in the Brio helps drivers to get optimum fuel efficiency.
The McPherson strut suspension in the front and H-shaped torsion beam rear suspension are made for stable road handling and comfortable ride. The electric power steering is stable and stress-free at both low and high speeds.

The Honda Brio is available in four variants - EMT, SMT, S(O)MT, VMT, EX MT, S(O)AT and V AT in six exciting exterior colours - Energetic Blue, Rallye Red, Urban Titanium, Alabaster Silver, Taffeta White and Crystal Black Pearl.
The Brio is built efficiently around Honda's "man maximum, machine minimum" concept which maximizes space for people and minimizes the space for mechanical components. The 'Double Triangle' form of the Brio's exterior conveys vibrant energy from nose to tail. The Brio is extremely easy to drive in congested areas thanks to its small turning radius of just 4.5 cm. A captivating chrome grille, large headlights which offer better illumination, stylish rear combination lamps, a wide stance and 14-inch steel wheels project unmatched sophistication.
Honda is known for styling its cars in an exceptional way and the Brio's highly impressive interior is equipped with beautiful and technologically advanced features like unique and sporty triple analog 3D meters for enhanced visibility, air conditioning, Eco lamp for fuel efficient driving, advanced integrated audio system with USB, AUX-in features and four speakers, tilt steering for great driving comfort and steering mounted audio controls for convenience. The Brio offers sufficient head and leg room for five passengers with comfortable seats. The interiors of EMT, SMT, S(O) MT are clad in single tone Biege colour scheme while the V MT comes in double tone Biege. The electronic powered three-spoke steering wheel has audio controls.
The Brio's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body enhances self-protection and mitigates damage to other vehicles in the event of a collision. The Pedestrian injury mitigation technology in the front part of the car is designed to absorb the impact energy completely. The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) prevents locking of wheels while the Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) enhances braking performance. The seats belts tighten the body firmly in place in the event of a collision. The dual SRS airbags deploy faster and remain inflated for long reducing the impact of any mishaps.
