Audi Q5 Car Review in India

Audi follows the principle "Only changes enable a new way of thinking" and has built the Q5 to set new standards. Q5 is Audi's first foray into compact SUV segment. Audi Q5 has the perfect blend of sensible technologies and traditional qualities such as power, comfort and intelligence. The Audi Q5 radiates both elegance and sportiness. With a length of 4,629 mm and a width of 1,898 mm, it grabs your attention. It is bestowed with best-in-class drag coefficient.

The Audi Q5 offers Audi drive select system which makes it easier for the driver to shift the suspension setup and dynamic steering response with help of a simple button. The five modes to choose from are - Comfort, Dynamic, Auto, Efficiency and Individual mode.

Audi Q5 is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. A flamboyant 4 cylinder, 1984 cc TFSI petrol engine churns out 221 bhp @ 4500-6200 rpm and a maximum torque of 350 Nm @ 1500-4500 rpm. The 1968 cc TDI quattro diesel engine churns out 174 bhp @ 4200 rpm with maximum torque of 380Nm @ 1750-2500 rpm and a splendid 2967 cc TDI quattro V6 diesel engine churns out 241 bhp @ 4000-4500 rpm with maximum torque of 580 Nm @ 1400-3250 rpm.

The diesel engines are mated to 7-speed S tronic transmission gear box and the petrol engine is mated to 8-speed tiptronic transmission gear box.

The suspension device consists of five-link aluminium in the front and compact trapezoidal-link at the rear which imparts precise handling and ride comfort even on bumpy roads.

Audi Q5 rides majestically on well-carved 17-inch alloy wheels and with the bonnet positioned a little higher, the car conveys an aggressive appeal. It has the characteristic Audi front-end highlighted by a large grille and venerated four circles that mark the Audi logo. The xenon plus headlights with durable gas discharge technology for dipped and high beam enable an intensive illumination of the road with evenness and range. The automatic dynamic headlight beam control prevents oncoming traffic from being dazzled. The light/rain sensor for controlling the automatic headlights and the automatic windscreen wiper function includes coming home/leaving home function. The front fog lights with chrome ring which are embedded in the front bumper, illuminates the road ahead when the visibility is poor.

The elegantly crafted interiors of Audi Q5 with top notch quality materials are extremely pleasing to the eyes. The interior features "Milano" upholstery, manual blinds for rear door windows, electrically adjustable front seat, inlays in walnut brown, lighting package and sun visors on driver's and passenger's side. The generous load area can accommodate almost everything you need for a relaxing holiday, a spontaneous weekend trip or an extensive shopping spree. Underneath the loading floor there is an additional storage compartment which can be equipped with a dirt collecting tray upon request.

The safety features present in Audi Q5 are anti-theft alarm with tow-away protection, first aid kit with warning triangle, collapsible steering wheel, full-size airbags and rear airbags, tyre pressure monitoring display and ISOFIX child seat mounting for the outer rear seats.
