New Mercedes-Benz CL-Class

The Indian car market is spreading its wings across the world to attract the global car manufactures to roll out more stylish and powerful vehicles from their platform on Indian roads. Within a span of a few years, some global car manufacturers like BMW, Audi, Nissan, Skoda, Volkswagen, Volvo, and others have entered the Indian market and released eye-catching cars.

Not lagging behind in capturing the Indian Market, Mercedes-Benz also introduced its imported Sedans, SUVs, and Roadsters. After experiencing the grand success and overwhelming response to its vehicles in India, Mercedes-Benz rolled out another dynamic and elegant 'CL-Class' Coupe to rule the Indian roads and the hearts of car enthusiasts in India.

DaimlerChrysler India presented the premium Mercedes-Benz CL-Class, which is yet another masterpiece from the house of Mercedes-Benz. The CL-Class coupe is built with innovative technology, luxury equipments, and high-performance engines.

The CL-Class is available in two variants: CL-500 and CL-600. These variants are built with ample safety and comfort features and an excellent interior. Both trims are powered by high-performance V-8 and V-12 engines and innovative technology including a 7-G Tronic transmission and Bluetec Technology.

The CL-Class coupe has been the epitome of stylishness and distinctiveness with matchless comfort and superior driving performance. It also sets a new standard in design, technology, and performance and sets the Indian roads on fire entering a tough competition in the coupe segment.

The stylish CL-Class coupe comes in CL-500 and CL-600 variants. The CL-500 is propelled by a powerful 5.5L V-8 engine that generates an impressive 388 bhp and a remarkable 530 Nm of torque, while the CL-600 receives a more powerful 5.5-litre V-12 engine that delivers an exhilarating power of 517 bhp and a torque of 830 Nm at 1,900 rpm to 3,500 rpm.

The CL-500 is coupled with the new 7G-Tronic 7-Speed automatic transmission that promises a quick response, smooth gear shifts, tremendous accelerating power, and an excellent fuel economy for this segment. Mercedes proudly claims that the CL-Class is the first passenger car in the world with this newly developed 7G-Tronic transmission that immensely contributes to the car's strong acceleration and fuel consumption. The CL-600 is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission.

According to Mercedes, the CL-Class V-8 Coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers in 5.5 seconds and the CL-Class V-12 Coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers in 4.6 seconds. This high-performance engine carries a sporty 4-link suspension on the front and a 4-link suspension on the rear. The front and rear suspensions are even more advanced with an integral support frame and an anti-dive control system. It offers agile handling and an effortless driving experience that perfectly suits city driving conditions.

The CL-Class has a striking and distinctive exterior style. The front is adorned with a stylishly designed radiator grille embedded with the Mercedes-Benz badge flanked by huge high-tech headlights. A sporty looking exterior is a perfect blend of modern innovative design and unbeatable engineering. It rolls on elegant alloy wheels and looks to hug the road, ready to deliver a dynamic driving experience. A unique rising feature line sweeps across the flanks of the vehicle and merges with the characteristic roof line before continuing on to the rear lights which wrap-around to give the rear a powerful and wide stance.

The lavishly designed interior is sumptuous and inviting and is dressed in the high-end and finest materials to provide great comfort. The CL-Class features an AIRMATIC DC air suspension and automatic climate control and offers better luggage capacity than its predecessors. THERMATIC automatic climate control, a stereo radio, speed-sensitive power steering, and a leather-wrapped multi-functional steering wheel are some standard equipment on the CL-Class.

It also features comfortably designed multi-contour driver and front passenger heated seats with a dynamic function and a memory function. Bi-Xenon headlamps with headlamp cleaning and an active light system, and a command APS system with DVD player are optional equipments. It is also packed with an abundance of safety and security features to provide maximum safety to the occupants.
