Overview

Fiat 500, one of the most expensive hatchbacks was launched in India in 2008 July. This lifestyle model is a two door coupe and will be imported to India as a completely built unit. Also known as Fiat Cinquecento in Italy is created by Fiat Style Centre. The car it's made is debut in India over a year after it was introduced in the European market. This dashing model is 500 is powered by a 1.3L turbo-charged engine churning out 75bhp.

Powertrain & Performance


Fiat 500 is propelled by 1.3L turbo-charged engine delivering 75bhp. The in-line arrangement of 4 cylinders is positioned in the front giving a spacious boot. The car performance boosts up with the electronically controlled Common Rail Multi-jet Direct Injection fuel that offers power from every drop of fuel. The car also enhanced with good independent suspension in the front and interconnected shocks in the rear. The braking is also good presenting anti-lock braking system with electronic brake distribution. With the five-speed manual, Fiat 500 from the small car segment accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 12.5 seconds at the top speed of 165 km/h.

Fiat re-entered India as strong brand and introduced new models with new engine and styling with performance. The exterior design gives a sporty look compact body shell. The circular trendy headlamps and the trademark chrome whisker and the logo gives it a classy look. The rear is enhanced with chrome finish large tailgate, large tail lamps, an integrated roof spoiler and also an additional stop light. Rides on 15 inch alloy wheel giving cool and sporty look to the car.

The interior also boasts of its classic attributes with combination of latest technology clubbed with conservative designs. The leather upholstery and well organized dash with round dials and buttons adds to its beauty. Leather wrapped electric dual drive power steering is contemporary version of the classic 500 steering. The chrome plated gear shift hooked on to the dash is not only unique but also saves space.

One of the interesting feature that 500 carries is the “Blue & Me” controls – automobile software which was introduced by Fiat and Microsoft to resolve the issues of in–car communication, infotainment and entertainment and is compatible with a range of Bluetooth equipped devices.

Fiat 500 does not compromise with safety either and ensures a number of active safety features like ABS with electronic brake distribution, air bags, dual stage driver and passenger airbags and fire prevention system. It is the first car in its class to up to 7 airbags.
