The Korean car giant has a reason to give this model its name. It symbolises just what the Sonata Embera has undergone in becoming the Transform. In automotive parlance, we don't get to hear this term often, but considering the kind of updates Hyundai has given the Embera, no name could have been better suited. The remodelling is so complete that it is more a transformation of one model to another. With the Transform, Hyundai has signalled a major step in its plan for consistent upgrades. But the relief is that this does not stop at being a ritual in revamping models.
The Transform is given a wide choice of engine variants, 2.4 VTVT, 2.0 CRDi and the 2.0 CRDi VGT that generates173 bhp and 148 bhp, respectively. These offer four-speed H-matic, six-speed manual, and five-speed manual transmissions. What really makes the Transform pronounced and different are the changes on the exteriors and interiors.
While the exteriors are given new headlamps, an enlarged radiator grill, chrome-tipped dual exhausts, a new alloy wheel and air dam, the inside is appetising with a cockpit-like ambience. The interiors carry a very neatly done console layout, trip computer, exquisite inside door handles, and luxurious seats.
