Maruti Suzuki, India's number one automobile manufacturer, had come up with its first car "Maruti 800" in 1983. Since then, the company has produced several cars. In 2011, Maruti Suzuki brought in the revamped and face-lifted model of the popular Swift and in the process phased out the production of the old Swift.
Maruti Swift Features
The New Maruti Suzuki Swift is equipped with a choice of two engines petrol and diesel. The advanced K-Series 1.2 L DOHC petrol engine churns out a maximum power of 83.8 bhp@6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 113 Nm@4500 rpm. The engine has 6 on-board computers that control everything precisely from fuel to ignition timing. The mileage is 17.94 kmpl.
The diesel engine is a 1.3 Diesel Direct Injection System (DDiS) which churns out a power of 73.9 bhp@4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 190 Nm@2000 rpm. This has bagged the international engine of the year. It also features a healthy combination of Turbocharger and intercooler and is highly fuel efficient due to the Double Over Head Camshaft (DOHC). It meets BS IV emission norms with improved mileage and superb performance. The diesel distributes through Common Rail Direct Injection. The mileage is 22.9 Kmpl (ARAI tested).

The Maruti Suzuki Swift is BS IV compliant and is available in the following variants LXI, VXI, ZXI (Petrol) and LDI, VDI and ZDI (diesel). Maruti Swift is available in various colors eg. Metallic blazing red, Metallic torque blue, Metallic silky silver, Metallic pearl arctic white, Metallic glistening grey, Metallic midnight black.

The cabin acoustic has improved which has reduced the noise, vibration and harshness. The new gen RBSS (Rally Based Suspension System) offers a swifter and precise handling.
