In the second avatar, the Vitara came to be known as “The Grand Vitara”, with a  stylish design and superior engineering.  The third generation redesigned and re-enginered Viatara has bagged multiple awards and accolades. It found favour with both luxury seekers as well as adventure lovers.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is available in a 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic transmission. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is available in an array of six colors which includes bluish black pearl, pearl white, clear beige metallic, phoenix red pearl, silky silver metallic and nocturnal blue metallic.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is equipped with 2.4-liter VVT 4 cylinder 16 valve petrol engine which churns out a maximum power of 163.5 bhp @ 6000 rpm, with a maximum torque of 225Nm @ 4000 rpm. It has 4 cylinders. The MPFI (multi point fuel injection) system ensures improved performance and fuel efficiency. The engine is mated to a 5 forward, 1 reverse type manual transmission and 4 forward, 1 reverse type automatic transmission. It is a five seater. The capacity of the fuel tank is 66 litres. The boot space (rear seatback tumble folded) is 758 litres and the boot space (rear seatback raised) is 398 litres.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has a superb suspension system which McPherson Strut in the front and Multi link in the rear. It is equipped with power assisted, hydraulic, rack and pinion steering. It has disc front brakes and disc rear brakes and the tyre size (tubeless/radial) is 225/65 R 17.
