Maruti Suzuki, India’s number one automobile manufacturer was formed in 1981 and the production of its first car "Maruti 800" kicked off in 1983. Since then, the company has produced several cars.

Maruti Suzuki offers many models such as Maruti 800, Alto, WagonR, Estilo, A-star, Ritz, Maruti Swift, Swift DZire, SX4, Omni, Eeco, Gypsy, Grand Vitara and Kizashi. The Maruti Suzuki Eeco was introduced in October 2001 as the Versa. It was the second MPV launched by Maruti Suzuki since the Maruti Omni. The Versa MPV failed to attract good number of customers. Eventually, the car maker decided to phase it out in 2009. Maruti Suzuki replaced the Versa with the Eeco which was rolled out at the 2010 Auto Expo.

It is equipped with a powerful 1200cc BS IV compliant engine that churns out a decent power of 73 bhp @ 6000 rpm, with a torque of 101Nm @ 3000 rpm. The engine incorporates a range of advanced technologies which includes high pressure fuel injection system, knock sensors, compression ratios, crank sensors, and low friction pistons to provide better fuel efficiency and drivability. Even at low and mid range speeds, it performs well. Maruti Suzuki Eeco has aluminium engine with 4 cylinders. The compression ratio is 9.9. The Diagonal Shift Assistance (DSA) present in Maruti Suzuki eeco provides smoother gear shifting. Maruti Suzuki Eeco is ELV (End-of-life) compliant and environment friendly. Maruti Suzuki Eeco has a good suspension system which has been designed and developed for a fantastic driving comfort on Indian roads both in plain and rough terrains. It has McPherson strut front suspension with dual rate coil springs, present in the front which imparts superior handling and driving comfort. The rear is supported by 3-link rigid suspension system with progressive rate coil springs which ensure everyone seated in the car enjoys a comfortable and smooth journey.
