Maruti Alto, India's largest selling car brand is specifically targeted at those customers, who are looking for premium features and performance in an economical package.

Maruti Alto Features:

Alto is a fuel efficient car, mileage being 19.73 km per litre. The performance of this car is magnificent. It has 32 bit on board computer for dynamic computerized fuel injection. It has low turning radius for effortless turning and parking ie. for easy maneuvering throughout the city. The intelligent drive assists power steering. It also features multiflow cooling AC (with heater).

Alto is equipped with 796 cc 4 valve 3 cylinder FC engine that churns out a power of 47.6 bhp @ 6200 rpm and a maximum torque of 62 Nm @3000 rpm. The Maruti Suzuki Alto features McPherson Strut with torsion type roll control device for the front suspension and coil spring gas-filled shock absorbers with three link rigid axle and isolated trailing arms for the rear. It can seat five persons. The wheelbase is 2360 mm and the ground clearance is 160 mm.

Maruti Alto Variants available:

The Maruti Suzuki Alto is available in the following variants Alto, Alto LX and Alto LXi.   All the variants are BS-IV compliant. The Maruti Suzuki Alto is available in an array of six colours which comprises of Blue Blaze, Fire Brick Red, Ecru Beige, Midnight Black, Superior White and Silky Silver.

Maruti Alto Exterior and interior features:

Maruti Suzuki Alto has a perfect blend of style and substance with its bold design and stylish body graphics. The exterior is attractive with stylish front bumper and front grill. The interior also imparts a luxurious looks with moulded carpet, luggage compartment carpet, moulded door trims, cabin lamp, electronic tripmeter, floor rear console, glove box, front door pockets and all new speedometer with digital fuel indicator. The front floor console with cup holders is available in the Alto LX and Alto LXi model. The fabric seats are available only in Alto LXi.


Adding to the comfort of Alto are Air-conditioner and a heater (available in the Alto LX and Alto LXi model), integrated front seat and outside rear view mirrors. Rotary control for AC and tinted glasses are present in in the Alto LX and Alto LXi model. Remote fuel opener and electronic power steering are the features which are available only in the Alto LXi model.

Alto Safety Features:

Safety has become as much of a selling point in the automobile market as fuel economy and performance. Alto is equipped with many safety features which includes collapsible steering column, clear lens headlamps and tail lamps, four steps headlamp leveling device, side-impact beams, front and rear seat belts, high mount stop lamp, tubeless tyres, an intelligent computerized anti theft system (i-CATS) with booster assisted brakes for shorter braking distance and collapsible steering column to avoid injury to driver.


Maruti Alto Price:

The price of the standard Alto varies from 2.32 lakhs to 2.35 lakhs, Alto LX from 2.63 to 2.67 lakhs and the Alto LXi ranges from 2.81 to 2.84 lakhs (all ex-showroom price). The Alto's package of performance, fuel efficiency and attractive cost of ownership have together made it India's most popular car.
