Powered with the K10B engine, the car is cautiously designed to meet the present as well as future emission norms in India as well as overseas. In the present scenario, the car's engine is in compliance with the BS-III emission norms. In India, the car is available in three variants, LXi, VXi, and the top-end version ZXi.

The innovative and powerful KB engine in the A-star churns out 66 bhp @ 6200 rpm and a torque of 90 Nm @ 3500 rpm. The engine is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission.

This new Star is designed keeping in mind Indian road conditions and aspirations of Indian consumers. With a turning radius of 4.5 metres and a ground clearance of 170 mm, the A-star boasts of improved performance and high acceleration. The McPherson strut and coil spring front suspension and an independent trailing link at the rear helps in precise road handling and enhances riding comfort.
