Mahindra–Renault came into being in India in 2007, when Mahindra & Mahindra entered a joint venture partnership with Renault. Renault is famous due to its participation in F1 races and its trailblazing technology. Mahindra was looking to enter the sedan segment in India and Renault wanted to enter the competition in the Indian automobile market. A match made in heaven.
