India’s second largest car manufacturer Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has introduced the CNG version of its popular mid-size sedan, the Hyundai Accent CNG. This model is powered by 1.5-L engine and carries a dual-fuel version which runs on CNG (Compressed natural gas) as well as petrol, where the driver can shift from CNG to Petrol version and vice versa at a flick of a switch.

The cylinder has the capacity of approximately 12kg offering with the running cost of about Rs 1.15/km. The CNG kit supplied by CEV, a Korean company, comes with advanced Lambada Control System that maintains the ratio of the air-fuel mix within the optimum value. This ensures lower fuel consumption clubbed with excellent performance of the engine. The CNG kit also meets the Euro emission norms and carries the price tag of Rs. 5,67,901 (ex-showroom price, New Delhi).
