An array of models has entered the Indian auto market in 2007 and 2008. Volvo XC90

The Volvo Car Corporation, Sweden’s largest car company, is now storming into the Indian Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment with the Volvo XC90 SUV. The XC90 is Volvo's first SUV, introduced in 2002 to worldwide acclaim for its advanced design, which smartly combines an SUV and sedan in a clever seven-seat configuration. Recently, the XC90 received a face-lift and its latest version hit Indian roads in October. The Volvo XC90 comes in three variants, each with its own unique engine. The 3.2L Inline-6 petrol engine churns out a massive 235 bhp, the 4.4L V-8 petrol engine offers a thrilling 311 bhp, and the 2.5L TDCi Inline-5 diesel engine delivers an admirable 183 bhp. All variants are coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission and offered with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration. The estimated fuel efficiency is 7/11 km/l (city/highway). The estimated starting price of the XC90 is Rs. 45 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
