Chevrolet launches its most-looked-out for compact SUV in India in 2008. The Captiva is packed with a 2.0-litre VCDi diesel engine that delivers 148 bhp. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission and is offered in all-wheel-drive or front-wheel-drive configurations. The Chevrolet Captiva highlights an Automatic Level Ride Control system that controls its all-independent suspension to provide a smooth ride on irregular surfaces of Indian roads regardless of the load within the SUV. It is built with superb on-and-off road capabilities, roomy interiors, and sufficient cargo space. The stylish curved roof, the high-mounted headlights, and the high curves on the hood give it a bold yet sleek appearance. This seven seater SUV comes with an option of third-row seats that can be folded for additional cargo space. It comes standard with air-conditioning, electric side mirrors, and alloy wheels and a Driver Information Centre is also available as an option. A 2.4-litre petrol engine that cranks out a remarkable 142 bhp is to be launched some time in mid-2008. The estimated starting price of the Captiva is Rs. 17.74 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
