An array of models has entered the Indian auto market in 2007 and 2008. Audi, BMW, Honda, Ford, General Motors, Toyota, Volvo, Mercedes, Maruti, and many more are some of the manufacturers that have launched various new models spread across the entire vehicle segment – be it Small Cars, Luxury Cars, SUVs, Coupes, or Convertibles. Here is listing the latest cars that came into India in late 2007 and the year 2008.
Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class
The SLK-Class was the first Roadster to ever set wheels on Indian soil. It is currently imported as a completely built unit and looks like a pre-cursor to the design implemented in the SL-Class. It has a flat muscular front fascia with aggressive and bold lines defining its hood. The front bumper extends beyond the air dam on both sides to give it a sportier appearance. The bold design continues along the length of this two-door roadster with etched lines that highlight the door’s design on either side. A retractable hard top that allows it to change appearance from a coupe to a convertible classifies the SLK-Class as a roadster with attitude. It is available in two petrol variants. The SLK 200 Kompressor comes with a 1.8-litre engine that churns out 163 bhp and is coupled to rather unimpressive 5-speed automatic transmission. The SLK 350 is equipped with a 3.5-litre V6 engine that generates an efficient 272 bhp and is teamed to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The estimated starting price of the SLK-Class is Rs. 47.50 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
