Swedish automobile manufacturer, Volvo Car Corporation, stormed the SUV segment in India with the XC90 and the sedan segment in India with the S80. Now it is preparing to venture into the luxury coupe/convertible segment in India with its gorgeous and powerful C70 luxury convertible. The C70 was unveiled at recently held 2008 Auto Expo in New Delhi. The C70 signifies Volvo’s commitment towards providing cars with superb handling, outstanding performance, incredible comfort, and superior luxury. The C70 is built with a three-piece retractable hardtop and can be transformed from convertible to coupe at the touch of a button. It will be imported as a completely built unit. The Volvo C70 is currently available in a diesel variant with a potent 2.5-litre engine that churns out 227 bhp. This is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Three petrol variants and two other diesel variants may be in the offering in coming months. The exterior is highlighted by a neatly carved unique grille with the Volvo badge at the center flanked by striking headlights. The interior is graceful and offers top-notch features. The C70 is loaded with class-leading innovative safety features to make the journey safe and secure. The estimated starting price of the C70 is Rs. 42 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
