Tata Receives Additional Land for Manufacturing Nano at Uttarakhand

30 December, 2008
Tata Motors receives an additional land from the Uttarakhand Government to boost the production of the Nano.

The company has received about 45 acres of land at its Pantnagar facility after a meeting with the state Chief Minister Mr. B. C. Khanduri.

Commenting on the decision, the State Chief Secretary Mr. I. K. Pandey said, “The state government has taken a decision to provide 45 acres of land to the Tata Group at Pantnagar, where it is already manufacturing Ace (mini) trucks and few parts of the Nano.”

It is also said that the company was promised a total of 1,000 acres of land but was given only 955 acres by the previous Congress government at Pantnagar.

This allotment of land is expected to help Tata in rolling out the proposed world’s cheapest car in least possible time. The land issue at Singur had delayed the production as well as roll out but after receiving the additional 45 acres of land, the Nano is expected to roll out soon.
