Inflation has intensely affected the car industry. Many
car manufacturers have hiked the car prices of their models under pressure of the ever rising input costs. Recently the
Skoda India has also announced an increase in prices of all its models across the country.
The increase in car prices is in the array of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 25,000 which would be in force from August 1 2008.
Mr. Thomas Kuehl, Member of Board of Director for Sales and Marketing, Skoda India said, “The price increase has been contended by a variety of cost push factors like gush in freight costs and in prices of raw materials. The company has made efforts to soak up maximum costs to keep the price rise marginal so that impact to our customers is minimized.”
