Tata Motors Launched Xenon XT in India

26 February,2009
Tata Motors has launched its cross terrain Xenon XT in India. It is a lifestyle 4-door, 5-seater pickup with stylish exteriors and comfortable interiors.

The tall structure of the new car is accentuated by trademark ‘Tata’ grille, integrated flared fenders, large wraparound clear headlamps, and impressive roof rails. In the interior the charcoal grey accent highlights the ambience that incorporates convenient features like power steering, power windows, central locking, HVAC and electrically adjustable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors).

Under the hood, the Xenon XT is equipped with a powerful 2.2 VTT DICOR diesel engine that generates a peak power of 138 bhp. It has a 4X4 with an electrical shift-on-the-fly mechanism and a limited slip differential same as the Tata Safari. Electrical shift-on-the-fly mechanism is a mechanism that holds the power to shift from two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive while the car is moving and the limited slip differential helps to limit the speed and torque difference between two wheels. In addition, a rugged ladder frame structure, a matching suspension, and alloy wheels improves the off road capabilities of the car. The load bed of the car is a 1518 mm x 1414 mm area that can be used to carry equipments for long journey and outings.

Tata also offers a wide range of accessories like the bed-liners, fog lamps, canopy, boot lid, and rollover bars to customize the Xenon XT. The stylish structure, comfortable interiors, powerful engine, and off-road capabilities come with a price tag of Rs 7.62 Lakh for the 4x2 version, and Rs 8.58 Lakh for the 4x4 version (ex showroom Delhi).
