Indian car major Mahindra & Mahindra in joint venture with the French car manufacturer Renault was working on a new car model from the MPV segment for India. However, now there is slight change of plans as the company has decided to delay the launch.

According to Mr. Sylvain Bilaine, Managing Director, Renault India, “The marketing study for the seven-seater was not in favour and that is the reason the company has delayed the launch.”

Renault is also planning to introduce light commercial vehicles to India and is in talk with the Mahindra & Mahindra for the distribution. Mahindra-Renault Logan- the result of joint venture between Mahindra & Mahindra and Renault is the only model running on Indian roads now. Logan has experienced a dip in car sales which forced the company to restrict the production of the entry-level sedan.
