Volvo, a Swedish luxury car manufacturer is planning big for India. Volvo India is positive about the sales growth and is thinking of expanding its dealership in new cities with wider product portfolio. Currently, Volvo has four car dealerships and would expand its network to 12 dealerships over the next one year. It is looking forward to increase its sales from 100 cars that it sold since it set up its operations in September last year to 200 cars (double from the existing number) next year.
According to Paul De Voijs, Managing Director, Volvo India, “The
luxury car market is experiencing a good growth and in a slowdown, the most expensive category of cars shows the highest growth.”
Presently, the
Volvo models in India are doing great and the company is thinking of launching another
SUV XC60 next year after it makes its debut in the European markets. There is a possibility of Volvo compact cars coming into India but a firm decision on this context has not been taken so far.
