Mercedes-Benz is expecting to grab a good market share in 2009 despite the prevailing global recession. The luxury car manufacturer is pretty confident of maintaining growth in the Indian car market.
Suhas Kadlaskar, Director Corporate Affairs Mercedes-Benz India Private Ltd. said, "We are optimistic that growth will continue, though it will not be 46 per cent as during the previous year".
In 2008, the company sold 3625 units and it witnessed 14 per cent growth during February 2008 to February 2009. It has introduced some attractive schemes to attract car buyers. Mercedes-Benz also joined hands with banks to provide easy financing of the cars.
As a part of expansion plans, the company is planning to open car
dealerships in Vishakhapatnam and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
