Rolls Royce Launches New Phantom Coupe

24 February, 2009
Rolls Royce has launched the all-new Phantom coupe in India. It is the most expensive sports coupe with a price tag of Rs 4 Crore. The car is the fourth model in the Phantom line-up from Rolls Royce.

According to Rolls Royce Motors Cars’ General Manager (South and East Asia Pacific), “The Phantom Coupe is one of the most driver-oriented models from the current product portfolio and completes the Phantom family, adding to Phantom, Phantom Extended Wheelbase, and Phantom Drophead Coupe.”

The new Phantom Coupe was expected to hit the Indian shores by November 2008 but was delayed. It is a two-door, four-seater car which can be customised in any of the possible 44,000 colour shades.

After a space of nearly 50 years, Rolls-Royce re-entered India in 2005 and sold 41 units in the last four years. In 2007, the company sold nearly 12 models in India and had aimed at selling 18 models in 2008 but due to the global recession it could manage only 14 units.

The company is also planning to launch another less expensive model called Rolls-Royce 4 in India by 2010 which will be priced lower than the base model of the Phantom Coupe.
