Tata to offer four engine options on the NEW Indica

24 January, 2008
Tata Motors is thrilled with the warm and excitable welcome that the “Nano” saw at the recent Auto Expo in Delhi. Tata has announced that the new restyled Indica is due to launch in the second quarter of 2008 with four engine options.

One of the new Indica models will host Fiat’s 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel engine and another will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine. These new engines for Indica will be built at the new Tata-Fiat joint venture plant in Maharashtra. The other two models will receive the existing 1.4-litre DICOR diesel engine and the 1.2-litre petrol engine.

Economic Times, sourced by PTI, quoted Tata Motors Senior General Manager (Engineering Systems), S Ravishankar, saying that “The price for the Indica sporting Fiat's multi-jet engine is still being worked out.”
