Bharat Stage-III norms by 2010

The increasing air pollution has finally attracted the central government’s attention. Government has now come up with a policy in concern to make the environment greener. By 2010, all the four-wheelers in the country may have to follow the cleaner emission norms. Indian government is expected to implement Bharat Stage-III norms for all cars across the country, and Bharat Stage-IV– the Indian version of Euro-IV norms for 11 major cities.

According to T.R. Baalu, Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways “road safety scenario in the country is very important and the government will take any step to improve them. For aggressive inspection of the motor vehicles, the state government is also planning to setup inspection and maintenance centres.

The central government will give the financial aid to the state government through capital grand for building the inspection and maintenance centers.
