Hyundai i10 Exports Exceeded 1 lakh Units

Hyundai Motors India, the country’s second largest car manufacturer has set a record by receiving 1 lakh export orders for its compact car, the Hyundai i10.

The car made its entry in October 2007 and reached its progressive export volume of 1,06,749 units in less than seven months. The Hyundai i10 is a world class compact car that can compete with any other compact cars in Indian auto industry.

Mr. H. S. Lheem, Managing Director, HMIL said, “The demand of the car is huge in domestic market too with the sales of 65,000 units and to meet the demand, the company is manufacturing more number of i10”.

In order to make India an export hub for compact cars, the company has raised production to 6 lakh units annually. It has also plans to increase its dealer network from 230 to 300 outlets across the country.
