With the forthcoming launch of its small car Figo, US car maker Ford said it will be phasing out its hatchback Fusion from the Indian market.
In India, Ford will discontinue the
Ford Fusion. Its focus in the small car segment in the Indian market will be exclusively on Figo. One of the major reasons for the decision would be that the Fusion was giving Ford a relatively small volume. Ford India Managing Director and President Michael Boneham also said that Ford hopes to do well with the Figo.
The
Figo would be launched next month. Commercial production of the vehicle has already started at Ford India's Chennai plant on 5th February, 2010.
