Reva Electric Car Company and Iceland's Northern Lights Energy has signed a deal yesterday to introduce electric cars in Iceland.

Starting in the second half of 2010, Northern Lights Energy will begin marketing and selling the NXR and plans to deliver the first cars to customers by the end of 2010. While Reva builds the cars, Northern Lights will develop a charging infrastructure in Iceland, where nearly 100 per cent of the electricity is made from renewable resources such as hydropower and geothermal as part of its Project 2012. The NXG could follow the NXR to Iceland in 2011.

The NXR and the NXG were unveiled at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show.

Reva also recently signed an agreement with GM India to develop and market an “affordable electric car,” an electric Chevy Spark, in India. Reva is also working on a plan to build Electric Vehicles (EVs) in New York.
