Skoda to Launch ’Greenline’ Fabia Soon

Skoda, the Czech car manufacturer is all set to roll out an environment-friendly car in India. The Skoda’s Greenline range is expected to release by next year. Currently being sold in European market, the car will cost below Rs 10 lakh in Indian market equipped with low-emissions engines that are high on fuel emission.

Mr. Thomas Kuehl, Director of Skoda India said, “The Company, a part of the Volkswagen group, has been making efforts to increase its share in India and wants to position its cars as a "lifestyle" brand.”

He also said that the new products would not be introduced in the volume segment, but would be loaded with style quotient. Skoda plans to get in the ‘Greenline’ range, that sport engines which are less taxing on the environment but give higher fuel efficiency. The first Greenline to be assembled in India could be on the Fabia.

Skoda is also working to introduce a series of car for India market. An estate version of the Fabia called Combi, the multi-purpose vehicle Roomster, the SUV Yeti and the Octavia Scout (lifestyle, all-terrain version) is in the pipeline to hit the Indian roads.
