Skoda India Launches the Upgraded Superb

11 March, 2009
Skoda India launched the upgraded version of Super, a premium sedan, at a lower price in India. Available only in one variant, the new Superb comes with a price tag of Rs 18.88 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

According to Thomas Kuehl at Skoda India, “The Indian car market is very sensitive and therefore it was necessary for the company to launch the new Superb at a low price”. He further added that the company is planning to top the premium car segment and therefore a competitive price will support the decision. With the new Superb, it also aims to attain four-figure sales this year.

The new Skoda Superb is powered by a 1.8 litre 160 bhp turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. In addition to the features included in the old Superb, the new model includes front and rear parking sensors, pedal shift for the seven-speed gearbox, and eight front and rear seat airbags.
