After Toyota, Ford, and Honda, it is now Skoda that is preparing to launch the sports version of its regular car. Skoda will be launching the new RS (Rally Sport) in India. Rally Sport is a premium sports car from Skoda.
It is expected that this sports car from
Skoda will be available in two variants such as a 2.0-L TSI engine with 200 PS on tap and a 2.0-L TDI oil burner that churns out 170 PS.
“The appeal of the RS lies in the fact that it is an everyday
sports car i.e. you can enjoy the space of a four-door family car as well as go full throttle when you desire speed,” said Ashutosh Dixit, GM (sales & network development), Skoda Auto India.
The car will be available in the four wheel drive 3.6-L 260-PS V6
Skoda Superb, which was launched in India very recently. RS will have a lower drag coefficient with new sporty body kit and sports suspension. The platform Skoda uses to build RS is expected to be of the 160PS
Skoda Laura. The car will have both interior and features of a true sports car.
The car, which is to be very soon showcased in Mumbai and Delhi, will be launched in India by Skoda after the launch of its Skoda Yeti, a crossover, by the end of the year.
