Porsche recalls Cayenne for rectification

German car manufacturer Porsche is recalling its Cayenne SUV to rectify a technical fault. According to an official release, Dr Ing, h.c.f Porsche AG Stutgartt is recalling the SUV from the Middle East, Africa and India. Porsche will be re-arranging the fuel line in the engine compartment of 18,856 vehicles. The luxury SUV Porsche Cayenne is powered by a V8 engine generating 405 bhp and is mated to a 6-speed manual gear box. It is priced at Rs. 58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Mr. Deesch Papke, managing director of Porsche Middle East and African zones said, “Till date five cases have been reported and an abrasion in just one of the five SUV. All cars are being subjected to change to avoid future problems.”

The vehicles produced between November 30, 2006 to January 18, 2008 need to rectified. Mr. Papke has asked customers who have purchased the Cayenne to approach dealers to get and get their cars checked. The fuel line re-arranging in the luxury car will be completed within 40 minutes at the nearest Porsche Service Centre and the rectification will be carried out free of charge.
