Maruti Broadens True Value facility for All Cars

07 August, 2008
There is good news for all car owners who are planning to sell there old car.

Maruti Suzuki India has now announced to accept any car of any age and will pay Rs. 40,000 for the same. Previously, the company offered exchanged price for cars that are less than 10 years of old and has not crossed the mileage of 1 lakh kilometers.

According to a study, roughly 25 lakh cars plying on the roads or are found in the garages are more than 10 years old. This offer will clear off such cars from the road.

Mr. Ravi Bhatia, Maruti Suzuki India, General Manager, Sales Support said, “We know there are lot of cars that are 15-20 years old that are not sold by their owners fearing that they will not get a price for them. We want to tap into that segment of old Fiat, Ambassador, or even a Maruti 800 and offer them a new car.”

He also added that there are double benefits of this scheme. We will be able to stimulate the market and clean up the roads in the process as well by phasing out cars that consumes more fuel and cause pollution.

Maruti has created a list of hundred scrap dealers across the country and invites them for an auction with a collection of around 100 cars. The scrap dealers then bid for the cars and present complete technical condition report for each car.
