The affect of financial meltdown experienced by Indian auto market and other sectors is not at all impacting the German luxury car manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz, rather the company seems to rejoice its sales in India.

The company made an effort to sell 3,141 luxury cars in the Indian market this year, which means Mercedes-Benz saw an improvement of around 47% compared to last year.

According to Mr. Sanjiv Sahajwala, Director, Company Sales and Marketing, “The Company managed to grow despite the difficult times as far as both the global and domestic economies are concerned.”

Further talking about the car finance situation in the Indian market, Mr. Sanjiv added that “70 percent of units were sold through the financing route in the first ten months of last fiscal which was reduced to 58 percent this year.”

Currently, Mercedes Benz product portfolio for India comprises of Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Mercedes-Benz CL-Class, Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, and Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class.
