Mercedes-Benz A-Class car may come to India

Renowned luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz is working on the possibility of introducing the A-Class from the small car segment in India.

According to Rainer Schmuckle, Mercedes Benz COO ‘the luxury car brand is studying the Indian auto market with regard price positioning and overall perception of the company as far as the A-Class range is concerned, however the decision whether and when to introduce the A-Class car in India is not yet taken’.

The luxury market in India is in full boom experiencing a growth of 30-40 per cent annually. Lately there has been a dip in the luxury car market but it is temporary and very soon will be on the right track.

The company is also planning to roll out a series of new hybrid models. Initially the three pointed star will introduce new S-Class hybrid car in the global market in 2009, which would be followed by a series of hybrid vehicles 2010 and 2011. Now will these hybrid cars hit the Indian shores or not is a question?
