Porsche, a luxury car manufacturer, plans to introduce the diesel version of its new sports utility vehicle, Cayenne in India.

According to the company's resource, the new diesel Cayenne will not come right away to the Middle East and Asia rather it will first attempt to dominate the German market. The production of this diesel version is currently taking place at Leipzig in Germany. The car would initially be available in the European markets from February 2009.

The proposed SUV is equipped with a 3.0-litre turbo diesel engine supplied by the Audi AG. This advanced engine technology is known to deliver 240 bhp. Cayenne has seven other versions to be introduced in the Indian car market.
